The first tower in Marota city is under construction

The first smart city in Syria, currently known as Marota city (behind al-Razi area), will emerge and become a reality in five years or earlier.

Marota city is a new experience in Damascus; it’s a combination of urban towers and green gardens. The city will be based on green architecture to apply sustainability in order to reduce energy consumption. It will combine vast areas of gardens in addition to schools, universities, banks, state institutions, fuel stations, places of worship and a large commercial complex. The landmark extends over an area of 120 thousand square meters. It will contain three gigantic towers which will be considered the largest towers in the Middle East (one of which is composed of 70 floors).

What distinguishes Marota city from rest of Damascus is that it is the smartest and most modern city, each building is different from the other, and they have beautiful architectural designs. The city will be provided with a network of gas pipes, photovoltaic energy and two generators in addition to other means of urban modern conveniences.

The most advanced control and lighting systems and technologies will be available in the building. Those are the standards given by Damascus governorate.

The licenses currently given to build the residential and commercial towers in Marota city are the starting point for this project which is considered a challenge in terms of the timing and the execution.

The construction of the first housing tower “Delta Tower” began a month after having obtained the licenses from the Technical Commission of Damascus Governorate.

The architects of the first tower confirmed that they seek to create a harmony among the social, cultural and environmental dimensions through an approach that combines the management of natural resources in order to meet the needs of citizens.

The goal behind Marota city is for it to be a comprehensive urban village within Damascus with the highest international standards including green housing and technologies. It will be one of the most important cities in the ME. Marota city is supposed to add a new architectural dimension to Damascus, giving it the characteristic of modernity and prosperity according to the international standards.
