The first educational conference kicks off at the University of Hama

Hama, (ST) – The first educational conference organized by the Ministry of Higher Education “Hama University” in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, entitled “The Educational System between the Requirements of the Age and the Needs of Development,” kicked off on Monday at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Hama.

The two-day conference will be attended by researchers and specialized lecturers from the Hama Education Department, various public and private universities, and the National Center for the Development of Educational Curricula.

In his speech at the opening of the conference, Minister of Education Dr. Darem Tabbaa stressed the ministry’s endeavor to bring about a transformation in education, so that it would be able to make a developmental shift in society. He added that the desired development in various sectors and fields is subject to the development of the educational system .

The Minister of Education pointed out that the transformation in education recently proposed by the United Nations during the conference held in New York in the United States of America is based on specific foundations, including the involvement of other ministries and institutions in the educational process, in addition to the Ministries of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Education.

In turn, the rector of the University of Hama, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Salem indicated that the conference seeks to develop the reality of educational work in light of the requirements of the times.

The conference seeks to achieve basic goals including evaluating the educational reality and developing appropriate strategies for it. It is also presenting local, regional and international educational experiences that keep pace with the advanced curricula, linking educational scientific research with the scientific requirements of the Ministry of Education and creating a school environment suitable for the development of curricula according to the available resources.
