The final qualifiers of the Science Olympiad for children and teenagers start at the National Center for Excellence in Homs

Homs (ST): The final qualifying competitions of the Science Olympiad for children and teenagers for the year 2023 started on Friday at the National Center for the Distinguished in Homs.

The final qualifiers are held by the Syrian Science Olympiad administration at the Distinction and Creativity Agency over a period of seven days

 Leen Qassem, Director of the Syrian Science Olympiad in the Distinction and Creativity Agency, explained in a statement that these qualifiers will be held in two phases, the first is for the junior category during the period between August 10 and 13, while the second is for the teenagers category to be held between Augist 13 and 17.

According to Qassem, 99 male and female students from the fifth and sixth grades are participating in these qualifiers, specialized in mathematics and general sciences. As for the teenagers category, it includes 178 male and female students from the seventh and eighth grades, specialized in mathematics, biology, physics and chemistry.

Qassem indicated that the students who will win the gold and silver medals in the junior category will qualify for the final qualifiers of the Syrian Science Olympiad for the 2024 season and will have the opportunity to join the national teams of the Syrian Science Olympiad for the year 2024.

The Science Olympiad for children and teenagers is an opportunity for ambitious and distinguished students to prove their creativity at an early age, and an opportunity to refine their experiences and enrich their knowledge until so they get the opportunity to represent Syria globally.
