The final competition of the World Robot Olympiad in Hungary and the Syrian teams in the top ten

Gyor-Hungary,ST-The final  competition of the three-day “Smart Cities” World Robot Olympiad in Gyor, Hungary, ended its activities on Friday with the participation of  three Syrian teams and 423 teams from 73 countries.

SANA said in a statement that the Syrian Rubex team from the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, consisting of Luna Salameh, Abdul Rahman Hourani, Zain Al Abidin Zureik and coach Hamza Saddar, ranked eighth globally for the highest regular category competition for ages 16-19.

The Institute pointed out that the Squad Ross team from Sawa School in Damascus, which consists of Nashta  Serubian , Karim al-Assad and Aboal-Bakor Zayat and the two trainers Shiraz Shubasi and Noor Diab, ranked ninth globally for the open category competition for ages of 16 to 19 years.

The competition which concluded its activities yesterday included two experimental and formal stages and it is considered the largest and most prominent annual event in the world in the field of robotics. It aims to help university and schools students and those who interested in science and technology to highlight their energies and abilities in the field of designing and programming robots to compete with each other.

This event also provides a suitable environment for the exchange of experiences in the field of Robot sciences the thing which contributes to the dissemination of the culture of these sciences and help in the development and promotion of basic scientific educational skills.
