The Association of the Arabic Calligraphy and Arts House held, in cooperation with the Damascus Directorate of Culture, is organizing the fifth “Love of the Pen” exhibition for Arabic Calligraphy and Ornamentation Arts, at the Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh in Damascus
The Exhibition displayed 50 paintings presented by 21 participating artists covering various types of calligraphy, in addition to some paintings of the art of decoration and ornamentation dedicated to the same event.
Reem Qabtan, the head of the Arabic Calligraphy and Arts House Association, told Syria times that she participated in this event with three paintings depicting Diwani and Farsi scripts, and a complete decorative painting inspired from motifs or carpet design.
Calligrapher Adnan Al-Sheikh Othman said that he had loved Arabic calligraphy since his childhood.
He liked the beauty of the Arabic calligraphy letters, and was influenced by the great calligraphers of Syria and Egypt.
He also participated in international competitions and won 13 international awards in which he won first place.
Calligrapher Abdul Salam Al-Najjar, participated with five paintings that he drew with acrylic on canvas paper, and other the paintings he drew them using Naskh and Thuluth scripts
Calligrapher, sculptor, painter, Muhammad Saeed Jaratli participated with one work depicting Islamic decorative arts. He chose light yellow as the background for his painting.
Amani Maska presented three paintings that highlight the beauty of Arabic calligraphy and the two other paintings that embodied a mixture of heaven and hell, calm and serenity. She also chose acrylic colors for her three paintings using
