Moscow, (ST) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared that the latest developments around Ukraine have paramount importance to the entire world, describing it as a battle for the future of the world order.
Sputnik quoted Lavrov as saying on Wednesday in an interview with RBC that the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine are progressing with difficulty. He added that there is some hope for reaching a compromise according to assessments “presented by our negotiators in this regard.”
Lavrov said that the meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Turkey does not replace the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine that started in Belarus. He pointed out that Kuleba did not put forward any new ideas at the meeting in Antalya.
“We are ready to look for any ways to ensure the security of Ukraine, European countries, and of course Russia, with the exception of NATO’s expansion to the east,” Lavrov added.
