Damascus, (ST) – The elected People’s Assembly (PA) on Wednesday began its first extraordinary session of the fourth legislative term. The session was chaired by the oldest PA member, Mohammad Khair Diab Al-Mashi.
The opening session will be dedicated to taking the constitutional oath and electing the PA Speaker and members of the Assembly’s office.
Al-Mashi said that the fourth legislative term came as a result of fair elections supervised by the Supreme Elections Committee and as an expression of the Syrian people’s awareness and commitment to the directives of President Bashar Al-Assad.

Later, the People’s Assembly suspended its opening session of its first extraordinary meeting of the fourth legislative term, which was attended by the Minister of State for People’s Assembly Affairs, Ahmed Boustaji, until 11:00 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday).
