Cairo (ST): The Arab Relations Committee of the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union affirmed its full stand and solidarity with Syria in the face of the aggression and foreign conspiracies that it was exposed to, while denouncing the Israeli attacks on Syrian lands and the massacres committed by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people.
The head of the Arab Relations Committee, Dr. Bassim Abdel Azim, made that statement during a symposium held today at the union’s headquarters in Cairo under the title “Syria… and Arab Creativity”.
In turn, the poet Mukhtar Issa said: “We stand by Syria in the face of the injustice that it has been subjected to after the forces of evil in the world fought against it,” noting that these forces targeted Egypt and Iraq before and wanted to impose their perverted vision of democracy by force.
For her part, poet Mona Awad, the honorary head of the Arab Relations Committee, said: “We are one people, and the destruction and wars that are happening are plots from the West to break up the Arab countries with a long history,” adding: “The homeland has been exposed and has been targeted since time immemorial, but truth and Arabism emerge victorious despite strife.”
