The Diplomatic Club in Syria Visits RAMCO Factory in Damascus countryside

The Diplomatic Club in Syria yesterday visited RAMCO factory (Al-Kasem for Engineering Industries Company) in Damascus countryside to be acquainted with the work process in this factory.

The delegation, headed by Mrs. Aya Bin Shaaban, was received by Mr. Ghassan Al-Kasem, the general manager of the factory, who briefed them on the history of the factory which was burnt during the terrorist war on Syria then it returned to work after rehabilitation works.

The delegation presented Al-Kasem with a certificate of honor in recognition of his efforts to reoperate the factory.

Members of the Diplomatic Club toured the sections of factory and saw how the Electrical household appliances are manufactured and assembled.

Mrs. Aya bin Shaaban,  the head of the Diplomatic Club , the wife of the Libyan Head of Mission, told Syriatimes that  the goal of the Club’s visit to RAMCO factory is to encourage and support the local industry.

“It caught my attention that this industrial facility supports women, as the majority of workers in the factory are actually women. I enjoyed the visit as I became familiar with the process of producing household appliances which are all made inside Syria,” Mrs. Aya added.

Mrs. Shukria Al- Mikdad, the Honorary head of the Diplomatic Club, said : “We see an example of a successful businessman to follow. A beautiful thing that caught my attention is how the electrical products are manufactured from A to Z in the factory with the smallest details, in a high technical manner, with the expertise of the workers, and with the support of the company’s managment”.

Mrs. Rima Absi, Vice head of the Diplomatic Club, told Syria Times that the aim of this visit is to get the women of the Diplomatic Club to know who produces household electrical appliance and how they are produced.

On her part Mrs. Radianti Fauzi, the wife of the Indonesian ambassador, said: “The story of how the owner and all the worker rebuilt the factory after 90% of it was  burned and vandalized is very inspiring, as good things always come after very bad situations”.

“I am very glad that I could join the visit and learn more about the owner, the products and how they produce the good products that could suit the conditions in Syria. The facts that the factory makes home appliances that can use with inverter are the genius solution for the electricity problem that we face nowdays in Syria” she added.

Rana Al-Sawwa ,the director of Information at the Libyan Embassy in Damascus, , told Syria Times that she was surprised by the strong will of Mr. Ghassan , the owner of the factory,  to rebuild and reoprate his facility after it was burned during the crisis.

Rana says that she was surprised by the efficiency of the Syrian products manufactured by RAMCO factory as they compete international products and meet the need of the local market for electrical tools.

In his Turn Mr. Ghassan Al-Kasem, the general manager and the owner of the factory, said that before the crisis in 2011, Syria was on the verge of leading industry at the level of the Mediterranean region.

“After the crisis, and following years of suffering due to terrorism and economic bockade, the Syrian industry returned to development very significantly. The circumstances that Syria went through require every human being to work to redevelop the country”

“The visit of the Diplomatic Club delegation was very important to introduce them to our industry”, he pointed out.

It is worthy to mention that RAMCO is a well known and famous company. It was established in 1993. It specializes in electric household appliances. It manufactures more than fifty different products (Water Dispensers, Washing Machines, Air conditioners, Vacuum Cleaners, Fans, Mixers, Meat Grinders, Juice Extractors, Hair Dryers, Irons and other products.
