The Diplomatic Club in Syria launches “International Children’s Film Festival 2023”

The Diplomatic Club in Syria, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, launched the “International Children’s Film Festival” on Sunday the 5th  of March with the participation of eight countries: Bahrain, Brazil, Chile, Indonesia, Palestine, Pakistan, South Africa, Venezuela, in addition to Syria..

The festival will last till the 9th of  March.Films will be shown in   Damascus at Laic high school  and at Dahiet Kudsaya school. In Aleppo and Lattakia,  eight selected films from the participating countries will be screened.

Mrs. Radianti Fauzi, President of the  Diplomatic Club of Syria, wife of Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia said in a statement: “ Children are our hope, since they will hold and build the future. Therefore, the idea of the Children’s film Festival is aimed at providing them with new knowledge by learning about the cultures  of other countries and also to entertain them and give them a push forward in their educational attainment”.

“We, the diplomatic club, hope that this festival will achieve its goals , especially with the participation of the head of the diplomatic missions, who are  ready to introduce their countries and to answer any questions the students ask about the cultures and the civilizations of the participated countries” Mrs. Radianti Fauzi said.

His Excellency the Indonesian Ambassador Mr.Wajid Fauzi, said to Syria times : “The Indonesian Embassy has the pleasure to participate in this festival for  children which was organized by the Diplomatic Club and the Syrian Ministry of Education”.

“ Through this film Festival we truly hope that Syrian children will widen their horizon and their mindset to see more and learn how the  people and children in other countries   live in this era” His Excellency added.

Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of Venezuela, Husam Al Aisami, told Syria times: The festival is important for children and young people who represent the future of Syria, the future of Venezuela and Palestine, and other countries. The films convey a message of hope to children who are the hope of the future”.

His Excellency the Brazilian Ambassador, Mr. Andre Santos  said to Syria times that the festival is very important because we can see the reaction of the students –  that there is a thirst for this type of information and knowledge , this type of opportunity for them to get to know different realities from different parts of the world”.

“ But at the same time these realities have similar points to the reality here in Syria, so the children can identify themselves with the characters of the  movies” He His Excellency  added.

“We all have problems and it is important for them and I think it is a message of hope for them to see  other people  go through these different problems. For us in the  Brazilian Embassy this opportunity is really great to show the children that we are part of the same world and strive for the same goals  to be happy  to build a better country, better societies and  be better human beings” Mr. Andre Santos the Ambassador of Brazil concluded.
