The death toll from the sinking of the boat off Tartus has risen to 65

Tartous (ST): The number of victims of the sinking of a boat off Tartus has risen to 65, while 20 people are receiving treatment at  Al-Basel Hospital in Tartous, according to a preliminary quote .

The Director General of Sea Ports, Brigadier General, Engineer Samer Kobarli, said in a statement to news reporter that 31 bodies were found today in separate areas on Tartous beach, explaining that some of the bodies were found on the beach, while others were recovered from the depth of the sea by the Directorate’s boats, which are still continuing searches so far.

In a previous statement, Brigadier General Kobarli explained that, according to “the survivors’ statements,” the boat had set off from Lebanon in the Minieh area since last Tuesday, with the intention of emigrating, and it was carrying people of several nationalities.
