“The Crossing” An Exhibition By Syrian Sculptor Afif Agha At Arab Cultural Club In Sharjah

Abu Dhabi – (ST)- The Arab Cultural Club in the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates is currently celebrating the exhibition of the Syrian sculptor Afif Agha, entitled “The Crossing”.
The exhibition includes 25 sculptures of various sizes made of wood and in an expressive style that approaches abstraction, embodying human, intellectual and philosophical ideas.
Regarding the idea of the exhibition, the sculptor Agha said in a statement to SANA:
The crossing is the journey of creatures, including birds, animals and humans across the desert, mountains, waters and forests to a better life and it is the crossing of all forms of sound, waves and light, indicating that he expressed through his works the continuation of movement endlessly, and the challenge despite all failures for creatures to rise again to another new crossing that pulsates with life in the pattern of time that determines the crossing to everything, and perhaps to the edge of the universe.
The sculptor Agha explained that the importance of the exhibition stems from the fact that it informs artists and those interested in the Emirates about his works, about Syrian art, about his own experience and about what he has achieved over decades of sculptural work, noting that such events contribute to strengthening the common spiritual relationship between the two countries’ civilizations, historically and humanely.
