The Council of Arab Environment Ministers condemns the Israeli aggression against Gaza and warns of its dangerous effects

The Council of Arab Environment Ministers, at its 34th regular session in Muscat today, condemned the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip.
The Council said in a statement: What is happening in Gaza is a crime against humanity and an environmental crime that has destroyed everything and threatens the life of the Palestinian citizens.
The statement called on the international community with all its institutions and bodies, especially the environmental and health ones, to stress the right to live in a safe, protected and sustainable environment based on what has been approved by international environmental charters and agreements. The international organizations working in the humanitarian field must take immediate action against what is taking place in the Gaza Strip of genocidal war and forced evacuation. Such organizations should carry out their responsibilities towards the Palestinian people and the Palestinian environment in order to stop the aggression first and lift the siege second.
The statement further called for alleviating the health and humanitarian impacts and disasters caused by the aggression, as well as ensuring the construction, maintenance and operation of health, environmental, humanitarian and infrastructure facilities in order to avoid the consequences that may result from what is happening in the Gaza Strip.
The statement further called for conducting an immediate investigation into the catastrophic consequences of this Israeli aggression against the environment through the use of the occupation of various types of weapons, including those prohibited internationally.
