The course (Manufacturing dairy and cheese and its nutritional and economic importance), which was held by the Rural and Agricultural Development Department in Lattakia Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with Qardaha Agriculture Department, concluded in the extension unit in Ruwaisat Al-Basatnehvillage.
Engineer Ola Muhanna, Head of the Rural Development Division in Qardaha Agriculture Department, pointed out the importance of such an industry and its role in acquiring new skills for rural women and developing their capabilities in this field. Engineer Muhanna indicated that the course duration was five days and targeted 15 farmers, and engineers from the Rural and Agricultural Development Department .
Engineer Eva Ali, Head of the Guidance Unit Ruwaisat Al-Basatneh, indicated that the course dealt with multiple topics through lectures and practical data that were implemented within the course, the most important of which are: the benefits and nutritional value of milk derivatives, the benefits of fermented cheeses, the most important industries in which milk and its derivatives are used.
And about the opinion of some of the trainees, Mrs. Sahar Mahalla emphasized the importance of these courses in increasing her skills and experience in the field of food manufacturing, so that she was able to manufacture all her family’s nutritional requirements and make some sweets at the lowest costs.
