The Governorate of Aleppo issued today a decision to close Saadallah Al-Jabiri Square, the locality of the Aleppo Citadel, the Broadcasting Corniche and a number of public squares, as part of the measures taken to address the Coronavirus and to preserve the public safety of citizens.
In this context, the Governorate has taken decisions that include authorizing the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, the Directorate of Health Affairs at the Municipality of Aleppo and the committees formed by the Governorate to monitor markets, restaurants and food stores and put severe penalties against violators of health requirements.
The decisions also included obliging restaurant employees to wear masks and gloves, making sure to dispose of restaurant waste on a daily basis, committing to the necessary sterilization after completing work every day, and activating the role of neighborhood committees, party sections, and police officers to organize the queue on ovens and Syrian trading outlets.
Emphasis was placed on taking strict measures against tourist activities and establishments that do not adhere to sterilization procedures and health requirements related to addressing Corona, sterilizing swimming pools, gyms, and sports clubs and adhering to precautionary measures.
The Governorate also emphasized the instructions issued by the Ministry of Islamic Trusts regarding prayer, adherence to health requirements, and spreading awareness among citizens to pursue social distancing and non-handshaking.
