The Chinese Foreign Minister condemns the illegal coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people
On January 31st, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad received a phone call from State Counselor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi.
Minister Miqdad and Minister Wang Yi discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to develop and strengthen them in a way that serves the common interests of the peoples of the two countries.
During the call, Minister Wang Yi praised the heroism and sacrifices of the Syrian people in defending their dignity and the unity, sovereignty and independence of their country over the past ten years.
Minister Wang Yi condemned the coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people illegally, stressing his country’s position in support of a political solution under the leadership and ownership of Syria and in line with the will and interests of the Syrian people.
Minister Wang Yi called on the international community to unite efforts to combat terrorism.
Minister Wang Yi expressed his country’s high appreciation for President Bashar al-Assad’s stances in support of China’s efforts to confront the Corona epidemic, and China’s permanent readiness to provide support and assistance to the Syrian people in facing the repercussions of the epidemic through the continuous medical assistance.
Minister Wang Yi expressed his country’s readiness to supply Syria with shipments of the Chinese vaccine.
In turn, Minister Al-Miqdad thanked Minister Wang Yi for his noble thoughts and stressed that the efforts made by President Al-Assad and President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China are a real guarantee for future of relations between the two friendly countries.
Minister Al-Miqdad praised China’s positions in support of the Syrian people in facing the terrorist war, as well as in the face of the repercussions of unilateral coercive economic measures.
Minister Al-Miqdad said that Syria and the Syrian people thanked China for all the assistance it has provided and still has, especially those related to confronting the Corona epidemic.
Minister Al-Miqdad renewed Syria’s stance in support of the People’s Republic of China in confronting all Western attempts that target China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Minister Al-Miqdad said that Syria only recognizes one China and that it supports China’s efforts in confronting foreign interference attempts in its internal affairs, whether in Taiwan, Hong Kong or Xinjiang.
Minister Al-Miqdad praised the scientific achievements of China in all fields, as well as the Chinese aid that reached various countries of the world, including Syria, which had a prominent role in supporting peoples to confront the Corona epidemic.
Minister Al-Miqdad affirmed Syria’s readiness to cooperate with China and to continue coordination in various international forums to confront attempts by Western interference in their internal affairs.
The two sides agreed to continue communication and coordination between them on a permanent basis, and to consult on various issues of common interest to the two friendly peoples.
