The celebration of the Syrian Cultural Days will start tomorrow with more than 90 activities across the country

 On November 22, the activities of the Syrian Culture Days will start tomorrow evening (on November 23) , under the title “My Culture, My Identity”.

The activities include cultural programs prepared by the directorates and institutions of the Ministry of Culture to celebrate its 62nd anniversary in Damascus and other governorates.

The activities, which will continue until November 26, include more than 90 activities in the artistic, cinematic, theatrical, intellectual and heritage fields, starting with the official opening ceremony at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, and a plastic art exhibition.

 

The activities will witness exhibitions of musical lutes with the playing of the quartet of the Syrian lute, the publications of the Syrian General Authority for Books and Scientific Manuscripts, with the distribution of the Literary Writers Association awards for the year 2020.

The Cinema Organization will show films dating back to their beginnings, namely, the Deceived, Al-Jazeri, and the Truck Driver, in its theaters in Damascus and the governorates.

The Directorate of Theaters and Music will present various performances for adults and children, including the Snake and Eagle Play for children. 

The General Authority of Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts will present two musical evenings, the first is an opera, which will be performed by the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra led by Maestro Misak Pagboudrian, and the second by the musician Safwan Bahlawan, accompanied by the Syrian National Orchestra for Arab Music led by Maestro Adnan Fathallah.

The Heritage Directorate will present a live performance of the Shadow Fantasy Theater, dealing with the Damask Rose and its importance.

Within the celebration, two  seminars will be held, the first on the astronomer Ibn al-Shater and the second on the dialogue of civilizations.

The Directorate of Antiquities and Museums will also organize an exhibition of artifacts recovered in the two national museums in Damascus and Aleppo.

The Child Culture Directorate will present various activities in all governorates, including performances, artistic, theatrical and literary evenings, heritage workshops, and a concert by the Solhi El Wadi Institute orchestra led by Maestro Andre Maalouli.
