Within the framework of the campaign to investigate breast cancer for women and examine the prostate for men, launched by the National Committee for Cancer Control under the title “Your awareness is your strength”, mobile medical carts were installed in the towns of Berri Al-Sharqi and Al-Saan district in the eastern countryside of Hama in order to target more than 2,000 patients in the two towns.
Rami Razzouk, director of the health zone in Salamiyah, said that: “The health centers in Salamiyah have witnessed a great turnout by citizens wishing to conduct the necessary medical examinations within this campaign to check on their health according to the unified survey protocol approved by the Ministry of Health, which includes conducting medical tests, mammography, blood tests and other services provided by the mobile medical vehicles as part of the cancer investigation campaign.”
In turn, the head of the health center in the village of Berri Al-Sharqi, Dr. Suleiman Kafa, indicated that the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense’s medical services, had prepared a mobile medical vehicle in the village of Berri Al-Sharqi as part of a campaign for early detection of breast cancer for women and prostate cancer for men, equipped with analyzers and x-rays, in addition to sampling devices. noting the cooperation of the volunteer medical team from the local council in Salamiyah in recording the names of the patients and other health data within an integrated work mechanism.
The medical supervisor of the mobile clinic in Al-Saan, Maram Gharib, explained that the work team is concerned with supervising the medical work, in addition to drawing blood samples for males over the age of 40 who visit the health center, and send them to the medical center in Hama Governorate.
Thana Haidar, a resident of the village of Berri Al Sharqi, thanked all those in charge and workers in the campaign, especially with regard to preparing and placing the medical cart at the service of the patients, which would greatly relieve the visitors of the travel trouble, noting the value of other health services provided by the campaign to women in early detection of cancer.
