The Cabinet approves pre-emptive measures to prevent coronavirus

The Cabinet discussed on Sunday the preventive and proactive measures of the Ministry of Health related to Coronavirus and the need for an immediate follow-up in all border crossings to check the arrivals and ensure their safety in accordance with the approved safety standards.

In its weekly session today under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Eng. Imad Khamis, the Cabinet approved pre-emptive measures to prevent the virus, which included temporarily suspending the entry of tourist groups from the countries that announced the presence of infections among their citizens and continuing the effective implementation of the procedures of the Ministry of Health to ensure the safety of arrivals. It’s noteworthy that the border crossings were provided with the accredited devices to check the symptoms of infection with this virus.

The Cabinet asked the Ministry of Health to provide the Ministries of Information, Awqaf, Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research with it’s mechanism to raise awareness about the virus and how to prevent it, calling on citizens not to travel to countries experiencing the spread of the virus.

The Cabinet approved the proposal of the Ministries of Social Affairs and Labor and Administrative Development to conduct a competition or a central test for the youth who finished their military service. The Cabinet also approved the follow-up plan and the executive programs for the development projects in the city of Aleppo.

The Cabinet discussed the draft law on the Fund to “support renewable energies” which aims to expand their use in the sectors of economic and social development as well as creating new job opportunities.

The Cabinet authorized the Ministries of Finance, Interior, Economy, and Internal Trade to lay down a development program for the customs sector that would include automating activities and providing the necessary technical equipment, plus authorizing the Ministry of Water Resources to find emergency solutions to provide the city of Hasaka with water due to the fact that the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation cut off the water from the city.

In a statement to reporters after the session, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Rima Qadri, indicated that there are many job opportunities for the youth who finished their military service in the public sector.

For his part, Minister of Electricity Eng. Muhammad Zuhair Kharbutli stressed that the aim of the legislative draft law related to the establishment of a “fund to support renewable energies” is to encourage the utilization of these energies and to secure part of the energy needed for the activity of all sectors, explaining that the fund provides an indirect financial grant to the beneficiaries.

Minister of Water Resources Eng. Hussein Arnous indicated that the Ministry is seeking with all the available capabilities to provide the people of the city of Hasaka with water through tanks and digging wells due to the Turkish regime’s infringement on water resources and cutting off water from the city of Hasaka, highlighting the importance of accelerating the necessary measures to put the projects that were approved in Aleppo Governorate into service and follow them up by the concerned authorities.
