The Britons  call for a referendum to lift sanctions on Russia and stop helping Ukraine

London (ST): More than 11,000 Britons have signed a petition calling for a UK-wide referendum to lift sanctions on Russia and stop its aid to Ukraine.

The text of the petition, which was published on the official website of the British House of Commons, said: “If our government does not change its policy of imposing self-defeating sanctions against Russia by causing energy prices to rise and stop sending billions of dollars’ worth of weapons to Ukraine, it will have to hold a UK-wide referendum on this issue within six months at the latest.”

The text of the petition adds: “The British Government intervened in the conflict in Ukraine without any authorization from the citizens of the country who now have to suffer the economic consequences of this intervention, which include higher energy prices, cost of living, interest rates, inflation, unemployment, increased taxes and interest, as well as strikes and damages to companies and reduction of public services.
