“The Blue House” a collective exhibition opens in Damascus

The Blue House Gallery in Damascus is currently holding a collective exhibition within the festival activities of the Fine Art Days.

The exhibition displays paintings and sculptures for 28 artists belonging to different generations.

The exhibits included paintings and sculptures in various styles, techniques, sizes, and topics.

Samer Eid, the Director of the Gallery told “Syria Times” that choosing a old heritage house in the ancient Damascus neighborhood of Sarouja to host this gallery allows for the establishment of a lot of events and for different types of arts, as it is characterized by a large area and multiple halls.

“This old heritage house can be used as a cultural center that embraces amateurs and professionals of arts and culture, but this is an old project that was postponed due to circumstances of war in Syria. It conveys a message to support Syrian art and artists”, Eid added.

“We chose a variety of works by 28 artists from sculpture, drawing and photography. The gallery’s activities don’t stop at displaying paintings, but there will be cultural activities and there will be a large space for young people with talent,” Eid said

Artist Nabil Al-Samman participates in one painting that reflects a human subject. He presents an idea or a small love story, and it contains intensification of colors.

The sculptor Ghazi Aana sees that its diverse works and artists characterize this exhibition, and this is something that enriches the exhibition.

Other participants believe that any traditional house attracts many lovers of these places and this type of art.
