The arrival of the first gas tanker to the oil terminal of the Syrian Oil Transport Company in Baniyas
A tanker carrying domestic gas arrived today at the oil terminal of the Syrian Oil Transport Company in the city of Banias. It is the first to arrive at the company after the fall of the former regime.
The company’s director, Engineer Bassam Khaddour, said in a statement to journalists that there is currently a domestic gas tanker at the terminal, and samples are currently being prepared and taken to enter the terminal section.
Khaddour stressed that the company’s cadres are fully prepared to receive oil tankers, oil derivatives, and gas tankers with a capacity of 21,000 tons of gas, 90,000 tons of oil derivatives, and 130 to 134,000 tons of crude oil, indicating that there is no obstacle for the company in terms of its ability to receive oil tankers in the city of Baniyas.
He pointed out that there are six terminals with various lines to receive gas, gasoline, diesel, oil and fuel oil, in addition to a sea terminal in Tartous to export oil, noting that the Baniyas terminal has also received a small tanker of diesel since the beginning of the year, and it was unloaded at the company.
