The army repels terrorist attack in Daraa al-Balad, kills more terrorists in Aleppo and Homs

Provinces – Army units destroyed gatherings and vehicles for terrorists of ISIS and Jabhat al- Nusra in the northern city of Aleppo and its countryside on Sunday, SANA reported.

In the city, army units destroyed, in special operations, gatherings and dens of Jabhat Al-Nusra terrorists in Karem al-Jazamati, al-Sakan al- Shababi and Beni Zaid neighborhoods, a military source said.

 

The source added that army units conducted, during the past hours, intensive operations against dens and supply routes for Jabhat al-Nusra-linked terrorist groups in Hanadarat camp and Sheqeif Farms in the northern Aleppo, inflicting losses upon terrorists in personnel, weaponry and destroying many weapon-loaded and machinegun- equipped vehicles.

The army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, continued operations and destroyed positions and vehicles of Jabhat al-Nusra to the west of Khan Touman town and the two villages of al-Eis and al-Bawabia in the southern countryside of the province.

Meanwhile, a field source said that army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, had heavy clashes with al-Nusra-affiliated terrorist groups which attacked military positions in the vicinity of Zitan town in the southern countryside of Aleppo province.

The clashes resulted in foiling the attack and destroying a Tank for terrorists, a vehicle equipped with a 23 mm heavy-machinegun and a bulldozer at the surroundings of Al-Zerbe village.

Meanwhile, the source affirmed that a heavy bombed BMB with explosives and a tank for Al-Nusra terrorists were destroyed, as well as a number of them were killed and injured during the army’s defense of the military positions in the village.

In the eastern countryside of the province, a military source said that ISIS terrorist organization received heavy losses in personnel and heavy-machinegun-equipped vehicles in army’s operations against their gatherings and sites in Aran and Berlaheen villages in the eastern countryside of the province.

Homs

The Syrian air force conducted intensive strikes against ISIS positions and vehicles in the southwestern countryside of Palmyra in Homs province.

The strikes resulted in inflicting heavy losses upon ISIS terrorists and destroying their mid and heavy-machinegun equipped vehicles in the vicinity of the al-Hayr al-Gharbi Palace, which ISIS uses as caches for munitions and stolen artifacts from Palmyra.

Earlier Saturday, authorities, while combing areas in Palmyra, recovered five archeological artifacts which had been stolen from the National Museum in Palmyra by ISIS terrorists.

Daraa

An army unit thwarted an attack by terrorist groups affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra on military posts on the outskirts of al-Manshiyeh neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad area in the southern Daraa province.

The military source said that an army unit clashed with terrorist groups linked to Jabhat al-Nusra that attacked a number of military posts in the western and southern sides of al-Manshiyeh neighborhood, SANA added.

During the clashes, a number of terrorists were killed and others were injured, in addition to destroying a bulldozer which the terrorists used as a moving shield and to make sand barriers to protect their fortified points in the area.
