The army is fully ready to eliminate any terrorist group that attempts to attack vehicles or people on the international highway Deir Ezzor – Palmyra

Deir Ezzor, (ST) – After the international road, Deir Ezzor-Palmyra, was subjected to terrorist attacks on public transport buses, the Syrian Arab Army has worked to eliminate ISIS terrorists and secure this strategic road that connects Damascus with the Badia reaching the north of Syria.

A commander told SANA reporter that, the Syrian Arab Army has worked on two parallel lines where work is being done to chase terrorist remnants of “ISIS” in the Syrian Badia and eliminate them in parallel with securing and protecting the international road Deir Ezzor-Palmyra-Homs-Damascus by enhancing military points, round the clock.

He pointed out that the Deir Ezzor-Palmyra international road is now  completely safe, and it is under the protection of the Syrian Arab Army men who are fully prepared to eliminate any terrorist group that tries to carry out attacks on the road.

A number of travelers and truck drivers emphasized that the road had become safe and that the presence of the points belonging to the Syrian Arab Army was a source of security and reassurance, noting the heroism of the Syrian Arab Army who were keen to protect the entire national territory.

A group of terrorist remnants deployed in Al-Badia of Deir Ezzor had attacked several times buses and cars of civilians and soldiers during the past month, the last of which was when a bus carrying soldiers on the Deir Ezzor-Palmyra road in the Al-Malhah – Shula area came under fire from the south of the road from a terrorist group coming from the Al-Tanf area that led to the death and wounding of a number of soldiers.

These attacks coincided with identical media reports indicating that the American occupation forces transferred hundreds of ISIS terrorists from Iraq to the Syrian Al-Tanf region to carry out operations against members of the Syrian Arab Army and civilians in the Syrian Badia.
