The Army Advances in Homs towards the Countryside of Damascus

PROVINCES- Army units, backed by the supporting forces, established full control over the 3rd abandoned battalion in Tadmur (Palmyra) area and continued advancing towards Tal al-Dabe’ in the countryside of Homs and Damascus, SANA reported.

A military source told SANA that army units established full control over the 3rd abandoned battalion, located to the north of Elab al-Tayas hills in Palmyra area in the eastern countryside of Homs province after eliminating a number of ISIS terrorists and destroying their weapons.

The source added that the army units continued their operations in the area and chased fleeing ISIS terrorists towards Jehar intersection eastward.

 Later in the day, the source said that army units targeted ISIS gatherings and fortified positions in al-Awamid hill, al-Bardeh, and the hills of Mahsa village southeast of al-Qaryateen, killing a number of terrorists and destroying their weapons and ammo.

In the northeastern countryside of Damascus, the source said an army unit killed all members of a terrorist group affiliated to ISIS, destroyed a tank and a vehicle equipped with heavy machinegun and seized weapons that were in the terrorists’ possession as it targeted their position to the east of al- Seen airport.

Earlier today, the army units eliminated scores of ISIS terrorists and destroyed their weapons and ammunition after targeting their fortifications and movements in the direction of al-Nassiriyeh-al-Qaryateen towns in the eastern countryside of Damascus and the southeastern countryside of Homs.

The source added that the army units in cooperation with the supporting forces continued their operations against the ISIS terrorist organization and chased

its members who fled away, achieving advance towards Tal al-Dabe’ al-Sharqi in the area.

Deir Ezzor

The Army Air Force carried out a series of airstrikes against the ISIS positions in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor city.

SANA reporter said Sunday that the army airstrikes targeted the ISIS fortifications and movement axes in al-Howeiqa, Haweijet Saker, Aiyash warehouses, and al-Rushdiyeh neighborhood and in the surroundings of the Panorama, al-Thardeh and Deir Ezzor Airport.

The source added that a number of ISIS terrorists were killed and injured in the army airstrikes in addition to destroying their positions and vehicles, some equipped with heavy machineguns.

Moreover, warplanes of the Syrian Army killed more than 30 ISIS terrorists in al-Tharda mountain, Mostodaat(warehouses) Ayash, to the east of the Airport and to the northwest of Tal Borouk in Deir Ezzor Province.

Hama

The Syrian Air Force killed more than 15 terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist groups affiliated to it in the northern countryside of Hama.

A military source told SANA that Syrian airstrikes targeted gatherings and fortifications of Jabhat al- Nusra in al-Latamina, Kafr Zita, al-Lahaya and Tibet al-Imam, killing more than 15 terrorists, injuring tens others and destroying 3 pick-up cars.
