The Arab Parliament confirms its keenness to support the security, stability, unity and sovereignty of Syria

On June 10th, the Arab Parliament affirmed its keenness to support Syria’s security, stability, unity and sovereignty, welcoming its return to the Arab League and the Arab Parliament.

During the fifth session of the third session of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, the Arab Parliament expressed its aspiration for more Arab involvement with the aim of reaching a purely Syrian-Arab solution to the crisis in Syria, away from any external interference.

The members of the Arab Parliament commended the return of the Syrian parliamentarians to their seats in the Arab Parliament, wishing them success in the tasks entrusted to them.

The Arab Parliament countries called on  the international community and donors to support Syria in order to improve its developmental, economic and social conditions, and to adopt initiatives, projects and investments on its soil that contribute positively to the promotion of development, reconstruction and sustainable growth.

The Arab Parliament reaffirmed its firm position regarding the issue of Palestine as the central issue of Arabs for the people of the Arab nation and all its countries, and to work by all means to liberate Palestine and restore the inalienable rights of the Palestinian Arab people, foremost among them their right to self-determination, the right of return, and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Arab Parliament also adopted the “For Palestine” campaign launched by the Palestine Liberation Organization, and in this context called on all liberals around the world, parliaments, and international and regional organizations to support the Palestinian discourse.

Syria participates through a parliamentary delegation of members of the People’s Assembly in the meetings of the Arab Parliament held in Cairo.
