The ancient city of Bosra is an international open-air museum, say Chinese and French tourist groups

Daraa, (ST) – Over the past few days, the city of Bosra Al-Sham in the Daraa countryside has witnessed the visit of tourist groups from China and France, including engineers, doctors, businessmen, and economists, to view its antiquities and urban and historical landmarks.

The Director of Tourism in Daraa, Yasser Al-Saadi said in a statement to a SANA reporter that the increase in the number of tourist groups visiting the city is evidence of the recovery of the tourism sector. He indicated that the directorate, in cooperation with the governorate, provides all services and facilities to tourists in terms of services and the distribution of brochures and tourist booklets to introduce archaeological sites.

In an interview with a SANA reporter, a number of tourists pointed out the greatness and richness of Syria in archaeological sites.

Valentin Journeau, a French national who works as a teacher pointed out the importance of getting to know more about the city of Bosra which has been occupied by civilizations for thousands of years.

Alice Barbara, a retired Frenchwoman, believed that Bosra is a global open-air museum visited by tourists from all over the world to learn about the intellectual and architectural values of peoples who provided humanity with the finest arts.

From the Chinese tourist group, architect Shao Tang Li expressed his great admiration for the theater and the castle which he described as a unique architectural masterpiece through design and construction mechanism.

Chinese doctor Shaina Bo stressed the need for continuous work to protect antiquities, which are considered cultural treasures shared by all peoples of the Earth .She pointed to the need for international organizations to participate in protecting and preserving archaeological and heritage structures.
