Damascus (ST): The Ministry of Tourism and Damascus Governorate announced the extension of the period of the 43rd session of the International Flower Fair, which it holds in Tishreen Park in Damascus, until next Tuesday.
The Ministry explained on its Facebook page that due to the demand witnessed by the flower Fair, and to provide the opportunity for the largest number of those wishing to visit it, the Fair period was extended until Tuesday the 12th of September.
The event witnessed a number of artistic and literary activities including an open-air art exhibition. About 18 artists are creating their paintings, including drawing and sculpture, directly, to participate with visitors in choosing the colors and themes of the works they want to see.
Director of Fine Arts at the Ministry of Culture, Wassim Abdel Hamid, indicated in a statement to news correspondent that participating in the exhibition is an opportunity to support young artists to display their artistic creativity and communicate directly with the recipient, in addition to holding three training workshops to teach children drawing, coloring, and clay and gypsum figures.
Director of Ahmed Walid Ezzat Center for the Arts, Anas Qatarmiz, said that placing cultural events specialized in the plastic arts for children within the atmosphere of the exhibition contributes to spreading cultural awareness, introducing them to plastic artists, discovering the talents of children, and developing the skills of the distinguished among them.
Artist Sawsan Muhammadiyah drew attention to the interaction of visitors to the exhibition with the artists while drawing the paintings, which created a distinct environment within the atmosphere of nature and beauty that characterizes Tishreen Park, explaining that she chose to create a painting that expresses the gods of fertility and beauty in different oil colors.
Artist Henna Zakhour indicated that she is participating in the exhibition for the first time and that the aesthetics of the place give the artist more creativity to express with a brush and color the atmosphere of joy and the fragrance of flowers.
