The 2022 Syrian Scientific Olympiad Winners Honored, Crowned

The Excellence and Creativity Authority honored today, Thursday, the winners of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for the 2022 season, who will join the national teams for the Olympiad in the disciplines of “Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics”. The honor ceremony took place at the theater of the Umayyad Conference Palace in Damascus.

The gold medals in mathematics were won by the students Laith Shahat, Samaan Mqdis Ephrem, Abdel-Wahab Ozun, Muhammad Usta from Aleppo, Haider Qassem from Homs, and in physics Anas Ali Maih from Latakia, Mufid Jalakhi from Aleppo, Muhammad Hossam Ali from Tartous, Muhammad Nader al-Dalati from Homs and Tayem Youssef Qasim from Damascus.

 

In the field of chemistry, the gold medals were won by Fatima Youssef Hassan and Alaa Ahmed Azan from Damascus, Zainab Muayyad Hassan and Reem Samer Suleiman from Latakia, Sana Ahmed from Tartous, and in the field of biology Kenan Kanjo and Zain Al-Din Qatta’ from Aleppo, Hadi Muhammad from Tartous and Luna Muhammad Shofan from Lattakia and Hala Tamer from Homs. In the field of informatics, the winners were Muhammad Wael Al-Zeibaq, Laith Samer Namira from Damascus, Farhan Al-Hajj Younes, Amr Bilal from Homs, Muhammad Rasoul Derbas from Aleppo, and Muhammad Osama Habbush from Lattakia.

Yesterday, the final qualifiers for the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for the 2022 season, which was held by the Excellence and Creativity Authority, were concluded over two rounds within two days, with the participation of 384 male and female students from different governorates, in order to select members of the national teams that will participate in international Olympiad competitions during the coming period.
