The 16th Internet Governance Forum kicks off in Poland

On December 6th, the activities of the 16thInternet Governance Forum kicked off in Katowice, Poland, with the participation of Syria, represented by the Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Iyad Al-Khatib and the accompanying delegation. The forum will continue until the tenth of this month. 

Minister Al-Khatib participated in an intervention on the recovery of the global economy after the Corona pandemic, in the 5-day Forum , which was titled “Global Economic RecoveryWhere has the world Reached”.

 

Minister Al-Khatib spoke about the role and impact of the digital economy in facing the pandemic, referring to the solutions created by the countries of the world and the best global practices in mitigating its effects, in addition to the difficulties faced by governments in achieving the goals of the sustainable development plans of the United Nations. 

The Syrian delegation accompanying the minister consists of the Director General of the National Authority for Network Services, Dr. Anas Dahabieh, the Director General of the Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority, Eng. Manhal Junaidi, and the advisor to the Minister of Communications and Technology, Dr. Ibaa Oweshiq

The opening of the forum was attended by the Syrian ambassador to Poland, Radwan Lutfi.
