Terrorists Used Mustard Gas in Northern Aleppo: OPCW Source

Chemical weapons experts have confirmed that the terrorist groups in Syria had used a chemical agent known as mustard gas during infighting in the town of Mare’e in the Northern countryside of Aleppo in August, according to Fars News Agency (FNA)

“The terrorists used mustard gas against each other in fighting in Mare’e in August,” experts of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) were quoted as saying.

US media outlets cited several American intelligence and military officials as saying last August that the terrorists had used mustard agent as a weapon in their raid on the Northeastern Syrian city of Hasaka in early August.

The mustard gas had also been used by the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group against its rival groups.

The chemical attack on Mare’e, a town located around 80 kilometers North of Aleppo, came days after health sources in the town reported that they received patients who had symptoms indicating exposure to toxic agent.

Following an attack on August 21, 23 patients were admitted to hospitals with doctors saying blood samples showed mustard gas was used.

The ISIL terrorists have been carrying out horrific acts of violence such as public decapitations and crucifixions against the Syrians.

Syria has repeatedly warned against the danger resulting from the terrorist organizations’ using of chemical weapons. It has officially expressed concerns over providing the terrorists in Syria with chemical weapons by some governments supporting the terrorism in the country so as in a later stage blame the Syrian army for using them.
