Terrorists threaten international waters: Amir-Abdollahian

TEHRAN– Iranian Parliament’s General Director for International Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with Malian Ambassador to Tehran Boubacar Gouro Diall on Tuesday.

“Terrorists in South of Yemen are threatening the international waters,” said Amir-Abdollahian in his Tuesday meeting with Malian Ambassador to Tehran Boubacar Gouro Diall. “Al-Qaede and its expansion in Afghanistan, and ISIL in Iraq and Syria, are the results of military meddling of foreigners.”

The Iranian diplomat highlighted that the military approach toward settling the regional problems and outsiders’ interventions created a good ground for increasingly growing terrorist groups. He lashed out at Saudis for military intervention in Yemen which has given way to terrorists developing in South of Yemen threatening the marine corridors of the world, Mehr news reported.

“In the next Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC member states (PUIC), to be held in near future in Mali, very important issues of great attention to the Islamic world will be discussed,” affirmed the former Iranian deputy foreign minister, touching upon the visit of Mali’s Speaker of Parliament Isaac Sidbieh to Tehran in late July. “With good management of Mali, the conference will have an important message of peace and stability for the region and world.”

He then asserted that while the African countries, especially in the western Africa are hit by Takfiri terrorism, Mali managed to handle the crisis.

The Malian envoy to Tehran, Boubacar Gouro Diall, for his part, in this meeting, offered his evaluation of Sidbieh’s visit to Tehran and described it as a successful visit. He then underlined that beside traditional relations between the two countries, parliamentarian ties would have a unique status of its own for enhancing the bilateral ties.

“The issue of Palestine is a very important issue of our foreign policy and fortunately Mali has been committed to supporting the oppressed people of Palestine,” reassured the Mailan ambassador to Tehran.
