Terrorists’ mortar shells hit Damascus and its countryside

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Terrorist mortar attacks hit Sunday  a number of areas  in Damascus and its countryside  claiming the lives of  eight  citizens and wounding  scores.

“three citizens were killed and 15 others wounded as a result of a mortar shell, fired by terrorists, that landed near al-Sheikh Raslan Mosque in Bab Touma neighborhood ,”said a source at Damascus Police Command.

In Bab Sharqi,a citizen was martyred by a mortar shell that landed near al-Farouq school. Two other citizens were injured at the said scene.while material damage was caused by another shell that hit a house behind Bab al-Salam.

“two other citizens were martyred, 6 others were injured as six mortar shells landed in Baghdad Street.”added the source.

Five other citizens, including a female school teacher, got wounded by two mortar shells that targeted Lubaneh al-Hilaliyeh school and the area between the French Hospital and al-Tahrir Square in al-Qassaa.

A citizen was also  martyred and two other citizens got injured by a shell that landed in al-Abbassiyeen bus garage.

Three citizens were also injured by shrapnel of a mortar shell that fell in al-Soufaniyeh square in Bab Touma area.

In Damascus countryside, terrorists fired three mortar shells at Jaramana claiming the live of one citizen and wounding four people
