Terrorists Kill About 5 Civilians by Mortar Attacks on Damascus, Homs and Daraa

PROVINCES,(ST)_At least 5 civilians were martyred and 38 others wounded by mortar attacks on Damascus, Homs and Daraa provinces, the official news agency reports. 

The agency said today that three shells-fired by terrorists- hit the surroundings of the ministry of higher Education in Damascus killing a university student and leaving 22 other students plus 3 employees wounded.  

The terrorists also fired two shells on Abo Remmaneh and al-Afif quarters in Damascus where about 4 civilians were wounded.

The shells caused damages to several cars at the scenes, a Police Command source said.

Another mortar fire targeted al-Kabbas area in the same province [Damascus] leaving almost one civilian martyred and 3 others wounded.

In Damascus countryside, the terrorists killed almost 2 civilians and leaving 2 others wounded by mortar attack on al-Kesweh area.

Homs

While in central Homs province, a girl was martyred when a shell- fired by terrorists- landed on a makeshift shelter in Karm al-Shami quarter, according to a Police Command source.

The source added that other three shells landed in several places in the same quarter leaving 3 civilians wounded.

It noted that another shell landed near al-Safir Hotel in al-Insha’at quarter leaving material damages without casualties.

Dozens of shells hit Bosra al-Sham city

In southern Daraa province, the terrorists fired dozens of mortar shells on Bosra al-Sham city where at least a citizen was martyred and several others wounded.

It is said that the foreign-backed terrorist groups have escalated their attacks on urban areas nationwide after the capture of the strategic Yabroud city by the army units last week.
