Terrorists Kill 6 Children by Mortar Attack on al-Dokhaneyeh Area Outside Damascus

PROVINCES,(ST)_Terrorists have launched 11 shells on five areas in Damascus and countryside, killing 6 children and wounding 16 other civilians, the official news agency (SANA) reports.

A police command source told the agency that 4 shells hit al-Dokhaneyeh area in Damascus countryside where 6 children were martyred and 5 other civilians were wounded.

Three more civilians were wounded when a shell landed at al-Daheye square in Harasta area in the same province [Damascus countryside].

Shells hit the capital

In addition, five civilians were wounded when a shell landed on a house near al-Jahez Park in Abo Remmaneh quarter in the capital [Damascus].

“The shell caused material damages to the house and to 5 cars at the scene, “a Police Command source said, adding that two other shells hit the surrounding of al-Jamarek square [customs square] where two civilians were wounded.

Another mortar attack struck  al-Qassa’a district in Damascus when three shells hit Berj al-Ros area. At least a civilian was wounded in addition to damages to a house and a car there.   

Yesterday, terrorists fired shells on Jaramana district in Damascus countryside and targeted a funeral in town of Dama Gharbi in Sweida province where  2 civilians were martyred and 38 others wounded.

The same town [Dama Gharbi ] witnessed today a new mortar attack as 9 shells hit several areas in the said town, leaving 2 civilians wounded and material damages to several homes there.

Detonation inside plumbing installation

On Damascus-Sweida road  linking Braq town to al-Sora al-Kabira town, an explosive device was detonated inside a plumbing installation.

A police command source said: “terrorists detonated the explosive device last midnight and the maintenance workshops had been  working to reopen the road.”

As many as 12 explosive devices were found near the plumbing installation according to the source.
