Terrorists fire 59 mortar shells into Damascus

DAMASCUS,(ST)_More than 16 mortar shells hit several residential areas in Damascus, killing at least 2 persons and wounding  34 others, a police command source declared on Sunday.

The shells fell in quarters on Baramkeh, Abo Remmaneh, Mazraa, Shaalan Saleheyeh, Baghdad Street, Adawi, Sabe’a Bahrat, Bab Touma, Qassa’a, al-Sadat, alZablatani, al-Malki, al-Rawda, alQemareyeh and Abbaseyen and Omayyad square in the capital [Damascus], according to unofficial media sources.

YomyatKazefehHawen website published photos of some places in which shells fell and confirmed that the number of mortar shells that hit residential areas and the Faculty of Science in Damascus reached 59.

While 26 mortar shells hit Daheyet Harasta suburb in Damascus countryside.

Another terror attack took place today in the Damascus suburb of Jaramana, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency reported that terrorists fired 2 mortar shells on Jaramana city, wounding 9 persons.

A third mortar shell hit Daheyet Harasta suburb, leaving damages without casualties.

Earlier today, terrorists fired 8 mortar shells on Damascus central prison and al-Wafedin camp in Damascus countryside, killing at least 12 persons and wounding 53 others.

The Prison’s Director told reporters that the shells fell in visitors hall at 10:00 am. 

Terrorists organizations affiliated to the so-called the ‘Jaish al-Islam’, the ‘Islam Brigade’ and the ‘Fajer al-Omma Brigade’ spread in Hobar quarter near Damascus and in several towns in the eastern Ghouta of Damascus and they almost daily target nearby areas with mortars and rockets.

The US, France, Britain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Israel support terrorist organizations in Syria, world media reports confirm.
