Terrorists breach cessation of hostilities 5 more times, 105 towns joined the agreement

 

Lattakia – The Russian Coordination Center said on Tuesday that terrorist organizations breached the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria five times in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of breaches to 543 since the agreement came into effect on 27 February, SANA reported.

The center, based in Hemeimim airbase, added in a statement on Tuesday that four of the breaches took place in Damascus with Jaish al-Islam terrorists targeting military posts in two areas in Damascus countryside, while neighborhoods in Harasta suburb and Masaken Barzeh getting shelled. The fifth breach happened in Aleppo

Cessation of hostilities agreement, which does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS and other groups listed by the UN as terrorist organizations, is still effective in most Syrian provinces, the center affirmed.

 It pointed out that it had an agreement with representatives of two new towns in Aleppo and a leader of an armed group in Quneitra, raising the number of cities and towns which joined the cessation of hostilities agreement to 105.

The center put the number of armed groups that are part of the agreement at 59.

The Russian center stated also that the Russian aircrafts dropped 38.5 tons of humanitarian aid to the ISIS-besieged city of Deir Ezzor.
