PROVINCES,(ST)_Foreign-backed terrorists have detonated a car bomb in central Homs province and launched more than 20 shells on several urban areas in Damascus countryside, the official news agency (SANA)reports.
The car bomb explosion took place today in a busy street in Ekrima quarter where at least 4 civilians were martyred and 30 others wounded.
A source at Homs Governorate told the official agency’s reporter that terrorists exploded the car bomb after parking it near a cosmetic shop in the ‘al-Oshaq’ Street in Ekrima quarter.
“The explosion caused serious damages to citizens’ houses, shops and cars at the scene,” the source said.
In February 2013, the same quarter [Ekrima] witnessed a missile attack that killed about 5 civilians and wounded 13 others.
Missiles hit shelter
A fresh missile attack took place today in Karm al-Shami quarter in Homs city as terrorists targeted a makeshift shelter in the ‘Yasin Qhali’ School by several missiles, leaving casualties.
The shelter is housing displaced persons that fled their houses because of the terrorist groups’ acts.
Mortar attacks kill about 4 civilians
While in Damascus countryside, more than 20 shells-fired by terrorists- struck quarters in Jaramana city, Kashkol and al-Dekhaneyeh areas.
The mortar attacks killed almost four civilians and left six others wounded, according to a source at a police command.
