Terrorist organizations breach cessation of hostilities twice

Lattakia – The Russian center for monitoring the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria observed two violations of the agreement during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of violations to 739 since the agreement came into effect on 27th February 2016, SANA reported.

The Hmeimim-based center said in a statement Friday that the terrorist organization of Jaish Al-Islam breached the agreement by shelling Syrian Army positions in Jobar and Erbeen areas in Damascus countryside, affirming that the agreement is standing in most Syrian governorates.

The cessation of hostilities agreement is not applicable to ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council resolution 2268.

The total number of towns that joined the cessation of hostilities agreement rose to 172, the Russian center said.

The Russian center noted that “Jabhat al- Nusra” terrorists shelled a number of residential neighborhoods in Aleppo, including Handarat refugees’ camp, Al-Hader town, Al-Sheikh Maqsoud, Al-Khalediya and Al-Nairab airport, as well as Al-Bilalia, Jobar, Heteit Al-Jersh and Al-Bihariaya in Damascus countryside, in addition to the terrorists-besieged village of Al-Foua’a in the northern countryside of Idleb.
