Terrorist Groups Fire Rockets Containing Chlorine against Aleppo Neighborhoods, Suffocation Cases Reported

ALEPPO, (ST)-The number of civilians suffering suffocation cases caused by the terrorist groups’ attack with rockets containing toxic gases against al-Khalideya and al-Neel Street and Jam’ayat al-Zahra Neighborhoods in Aleppo reached 107.

The injured persons were taken to hospitals, according to SANA reporter in Aleppo.

Director of Aleppo Health Directorate said earlier that the number of injured civilians reached 50, pointing out that medical teams continue to provide necessary services and treatment. He expected a rise in the number of victims coming to the hospitals.

He added that the gas used by the terrorist groups in targeting Aleppo areas is probably Chlorine according to symptoms suffered by the injured victims.

Terrorist groups on Saturday targeted Aleppo’s al-Khalideya and al-Neel Street and Jam’ayat al-Zahra Neighborhoods with rockets containing chlorine, causing scores of suffocation cases among civilians.

SANA reporter also said that the Syrian Arab army retaliated by targeting the positions from where terrorist groups fired the rockets and inflicted heavy losses on the terrorists.

Aleppo Police Commander, Major General Issam al-Shalli, said in a statement that the terrorist groups Saturday evening targeted the residential neighborhoods in Aleppo with explosive rockets containing toxic gases that caused suffocation to tens of civilians who were taken immediately to al-Razi and the University hospitals for treatment from the erosive substance they inhaled because of the attack.

On his part, Aleppo Governor Hussein Deyab said while checking the condition of the victims at the hospitals that “once again, this terrorist attack affirms that the terrorist organizations have poisonous gases,” urging the international community to assume its responsibility in protecting civilians, particularly children, elderly and women.

The terrorist attack comes a few days after local sources in Idleb revealed that French terrorists arrived in Idleb across Turkish borders to load missiles with chemical agents as to be used in attacks inside the Syrian territory.

The sources told the Arabic service of Russia’s Sputnik news agency that the professionals aim to use the munitions in a fake chemical attack carried out by terrorists as a pretext for the United States and its allies to launch possible airstrikes on Syria.
