Terrorist Bombings in Tartous and Jableh Receive More Condemnations

CAPITALS, (ST)-The terrorist blasts in the Syrian cities of Tartus and Jableh continued on Wednesday to draw widespread international condemnation.

In Tehran, the Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the terrorist bombings in the Syrian cities and urged the international community to cooperate in the fight against terrorism.

  “Terrorism and extremism pose a serious danger to regional countries and are a threat to global peace and security,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari said on Wednesday, offering his country’s condolences to the Syrian people and government and the bereaved families of the victims.

“Iran calls on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations as regards an all-out confrontation with this ominous and inhuman phenomenon,” he added.

In Pyongyang, the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) stressed that the terrorist bombings are the product of despicable plots of terrorists and their supporters to hinder the peaceful settlement of the crisis in Syria and create difficulties in the way of the struggle of the Syrian army and people to defend Syria’s sovereignty territorial integrity and security.

“We reiterate our full support and solidarity with the just struggle of the government and people of the Syrian Arab Republic to foil the hostile forces’ challenge and aggression moves and achieve security, stability and territorial integrity of the country”, the Korean Central News Agency quoted a spokesman for DPRK Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement on Tuesday, according to SANA.

He asserted the DPRK government’s constant and firm stance on rejecting all forms of terrorism.

Meanwhile the Slovak Communist Party leader Joseph Herdlishka described the terrorist bombings as a criminal barbaric act targeting innocent people as to implement a foreign agenda aiming to destroy the Syrian state and undermine peace and stability in the entire world.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Prague, the party leader held the countries, which are behind these blasts, fully responsible for the whole crisis in Syria.

He expressed confidence that a solution to the crisis in the country can be attained through intra-Syrian dialogue without foreign interference.
