HOMS- Eight Syrians, including six school children, were martyred on Sunday in a booby-trapped car explosion targeting school compound in Um al-Amd neighborhood in the eastern countryside of Homs.
A Police Command source told SANA that the terrorists blew the car up near a school compound in Um al-Amd town while students were at classrooms. The attack claimed the lives of six students and two school workers.
According to the source, 34 people, mostly students and members of the teaching staff working in the school compound, were also injured in the coward blast.
Schools in Syria have been the target of the armed terrorist groups’ mortar attacks and bombings which have claimed the lives of many students. In November, five school children were martyred in a mortar shell attack that targeted their mini bus in Damascus.
