Terrorist attack targets the graduation ceremony of students of the Military Academy in Homs, dozens martyred and injured

Dozens of civilians and military personnel were martyred and others were wounded as a result of a terrorist attack by drones that targeted the graduation ceremony of the cadets of the Military Academy in Homs.

The General Command of the Army and the Armed Forces said in a statement on Thursday that “armed terrorist organizations, supported by international parties, this afternoon targeted the graduation ceremony of the students of the Military Academy in Homs by drones carrying explosive ammunition.

The terrorist attack took place almost immediately following the graduation ceremony. A number of civilians and military personnel were martyred and dozens others were wounded, including critical injuries among women and children of some families who attended the graduation ceremony in addition to a number of cadets.

The statement added: “The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces considers this cowardly terrorist act as an unprecedented criminal act and confirms that the General Command will respond with full force and firmness to these terrorist organizations wherever they are.

The General Command further stresses the accountability of the planners and the perpetrators of this criminal act that they will pay dearly.”
