Tehran: The occupation’s expansion of settlements threatens the security of the region

Spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Abbas Mousavi stressed that the Israeli occupation’s expansion of illegal settlements and annexation of parts of the West Bank to the 1948- occupied lands constitute a violation of international laws and a threat to security and peace in the region.

“The Palestinian people are now facing occupation, siege and embargo, in addition to facing the Coronavirus,” Mousavi said in a statement today.

Mousavi called on the United Nations and international organizations to assume their responsibility to stop these Israeli measures, which are a flagrant violation of international laws and a threat to security and peace in the region.

On the other hand, the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the US Treasury’s decision to block websites of Iranian media.

“Iran strongly condemns the US Treasury decision to block access to the Internet by Iranian media, which contradicts the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Freedom of Expression,” Iranian Foreign Ministry said.
