Moscow– Russian State Duma Vice-Speaker Nikolai Levichev said that Iran and Russia have the same views on restoring security in the Middle East region, IRNA reported.
Levichev, also the co-chairman of Iran-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group, made the remarks in a meeting in Moscow with visiting head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission AlaeddinBoroujerdi.
Levichev noted that both Tehran and Moscow believe in the necessity to efficiently fight with Daesh terrorist group.
Levichev said that Iran and Russia have growing cooperation in technical and military areas and in the areas of energy, oil and gas as well which is to the benefit of both nations.
He expressed hope that lifting of Western sanction on Tehran would open a new chapter in cooperation between Iran and Russia.
The Iranian lawmaker, for his part, pointed to the ongoing regional and international developmentsand criticized certain world powers for adopting double standards towards political crises across the globe.
Boroujerdi condemned the aggression of Yemen by the Saudi-led coalition and the massacre of innocent people in the country.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the crises in Syria.
