Kazem Gharibabadi, Vice-President of Iran’s Judiciary for International Affairs, has announced that Tehran has identified 125 suspects in connection with the crime of assassinating General Qassem Soleimani, the Commander of Al-Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In an interview with IRIB TV 2 television network Sunday night, Gharibabadi said that 125 individuals, mostly US officials, have already been identified, and that some countries that were involved in the terrorist act were also asked to provide Iran with related information and documents.
Former US President Donald Trump is on the top of the list, he added.
Gharibabadi pointed out that Iran is determined to cooperate with Iraq, being the country where the crime took place, to identify all perpetrators, sponsors, and plotters, and to bring them to justice.
He clarified that investigation into the assassination is underway and the probe will be completed in the near future.
According to the Iranian official, General Soleimani was on a non-military operation on the night of his martyrdom and he had departed for Iraq carrying a message about regional issues.
Gharibabadi stressed that the terrorist act of assassinating Soleimani is an example of crimes against humanity.
