Tehran absolutely does not allow the transfer of weapons through its territories, says Iranian Foreign Ministry
TEHRAN, (ST) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh denied the allegations about the transfer of weapons and military equipment through Iranian territory to Armenia, stressing that his country absolutely does not allow its territories to be used for this purpose.
Khatibzadeh said in a statement today that “the Islamic Republic of Iran is monitoring carefully the process of transporting goods and their transit to neighboring countries and does not in any way allow the use of its territories to transport weapons and ammunition.”
He indicated that trucks and traditional civilian goods are usually transported by transit between Iran and neighboring countries. The trucks in question work within that framework.
