Tartous, Jableh Terrorist Blasts Continue to be Condemned

MOSCOW, (ST)- Head of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko on Tuesday condemned the terrorist bombings which rocked the Syrian coastal cities of Jableh and Tartous on Monday, urging the international community to unify their efforts as to decisively retaliate to the barbaric acts of the terrorists.

At least 78 people were martyred and many other were wounded in the terrorist attacks.

In  a cable of condolences to Speaker of the People’s Assembly Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham on Tuesday, Matviyenko said “this horrible crime which targeted innocent people shocks human conscience with its cruelty..and while we strongly condemn this terrorist act we also express our confidence that perpetrators will get severe punishment.”

Expressing her deep condolences to the families of the victims, Matviyenka said” active coordination of the international community’s counter-terrorism efforts would be the strong retaliation to those gangs’ crimes who seek imposing their will through terrorizing and killing people.”

Balarus: Concerted International Efforts to Put an End to Bloodshed in Syria Needed

The Foreign Ministry of Belarus also condemned the terrorist attacks against civilians in the two Syrian cities and called for pressing ahead with the battle against the terrorists who know no morals or values.

The ministry, which expressed sympathy with families of the martyrs and wished speedy recovery to the wounded, reiterated the need for concerted international efforts to put an end to bloodshed in Syria and attain political settlement in the country which forms the frontline in  confrontation of terrorism.

Haitham Abu Sa’eed: Perpetrators have no Religion

Meanwhile,  Secretary General of the European Organization for Security and Information Haitham Abu Sa’eed described the terrorist blasts of Jableh and Tartous as “barbaric actions which are considered as a crime against humanity ”, saying that their perpetrators have no religion or sense of humanity and could not be listed as human beings, SANA reported.

Abu Sa’eed indicated, in a statement Tuesday, that in the absence of a clear reference to hold perpetrators of such actions accountable, then those who support and finance terrorists, and know all actions and steps of the terrorist organizations should be brought to justice.

“ What has been happening in Syria since the beginning of the crisis in 2011 do not need more documentation for an international court to prosecute war crimes of the terrorist groups” the statement read, warning against mixing politics with legal issues in order not to obliterate the rights and undermine the Syrian state’s right to defend its people and its private and public establishments.
