Targeting al-Yarmouk Camp by Terrorist Groups a Crime against Humanity: Palestinian minister

DAMASCUS- Targeting the al-Yarmouk Camp in Damascus by the armed terrorist groups is a crime against humanity, stressed Palestinian Labor Minister Ahmad Majdalani.

In a press conference on Tuesday, Majdalani said that “armed groups have targeted the Palestinian camps in Syria, causing big human and material losses and leading to a serious humanitarian crisis that adds more burdens on the Syrian state”

“The Palestinians have repeatedly stressed that they are not part of the crisis in Syria and their being exploited in this crisis doesn’t serve any political goal,” the minister said.

He added: “We will never allow using the people of al-Yarmouk Camp as human shields for the gunmen. The armed groups should understand that their problem won’t be only with Syria but with the Palestinian people too.”

Majdali affirmed that “the source of the fire shooting against humanitarian aid convoys, which have been trying to enter al-Yarmouk Camp to provide assistance to the Palestinians there, was the areas under the control of the armed terrorist groups.

“We discussed with the Syrian Ministry of Social Affairs other alternatives to deal with the situation in al-Yarmouk Camp and we agreed on adopting certain procedures that allow the access of relief materials and the evacuation of all who want to leave the camp.” The minister pointed out.
