Talks held about the situation of Syrians in Iraq

BAGHDAD, (ST)_Syria’s Ambassador in Baghdad Sattam Jad’aan Al-Dandah discussed on Monday with Director General of Civil Status, Passports and Residence, Major General Riyad Jundi al-Ka’abi the ways of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two countries to serve the joint interest, and the working conditions of the Syrians in Iraq and prevent their exploitation by the employers.
 
According to the Syrian News Agency (SANA), Al-Dandah called for dealing with the situations of the Syrian citizens, who breach the residence act and allowing them to enter Iraq after settling their legal status and paying fines.
 
He stressed the importance of granting entry visas to the Syrians from the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus or through Iraqi airports, in addition to providing facilitation to the Syrian community in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and allowing them to visit the embassy to complete the consular documents.
